Charles
P. Rice, Saddlemaker
My sincere gratitude to my friend Mr. Charlie Rice, for
teaching me his trade. Charlie is one of the few true
saddle makers, and has been for over 50 years. In his
eighties now; he still works with leather - repairing
saddles, bridles, halters, harnesses and anything else
that comes his way. He has even made elephant harnesses!
Charlie is a retired Detroit Michigan Police Officer. He
is an amazing and talented man.

Charlie passed away on January 25,
2008. I miss him terribly and still feel lost without
him. Charlie was my best friend.
He has given me a true gift by sharing his talent with
me.
Some people will come into your life
and change it forever. Charlie was one of those people
to me.
